The month of September was Prostate Health Awareness Month and it was a very busy start to Spring for the EJ Whitten Foundation.
We kicked off the AFL’s September Celebration of Footy Finals with the Chemist Warehouse E.J. Whitten Legends Game on 1 September. The game was once again a highly engaging and entertaining spectacle. Captain of the Victorian team, Jonathan Brown, kicked the winning goal after the siren by threading a drop punt through the middle of the “sticks” despite being at an “impossible” 180 degree angle.

Grand Final Week was another big week in September for the Foundation. Matty Mayne chopped off his beloved Mullet that he had been grooming for over 3 years to raise awareness and over $10,000 in funds for Men’s Health.
The E.J. Whitten TAB Grand Final Lunch was another great day with 4x Premiership player Jarryd Roughead picking the Tigers for the win. His fellow premiership panelists Jimmy Bartel, and Brent Harvey weren’t so confident, and of course AFLW Adelaide Crows premiership player Abbey Holmes tipped the Crows men to match the success AFLW Crows team earlier in the year.
The busy period concluded with the AFL Masters in Geelong where the “Time to Test” campaign was promoted to the 803 male participants in the carnival. The Townsville Sharks got right behind the cause raising funds and awareness in FNQ and during the Masters Carnival.
We now enter Spring Racing Carnival before embarking on a summer of Ashes Cricket, Australian Open Tennis, A-League Soccer, Big Bash T20, Nitro Athletics and other exciting summer sports.
The message as always from the E.J. Whitten Foundation is look after your health as we want you to have a happy and healthy spring and summer with your families.
